Hello Brittany! will you waive the GMAT this year for MBA program?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 10:34PM
Hello Lior! I am not sure who Brittany is (she is not from Kelley), but for Kelley, we will be making GMAT/GRE waivers available again this year. Just see our website for the info on how to apply for a waiver.

Hi. How does one choose a specialization in the MBA? Do I need to know in advance which industry I want to work in? to be honest I really don’t know…

second question, can my wife work during my MBA?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 10:37PM
Shalom Gil and Or!
Gil: Yes, students who receive GMAT waivers are still considered fully for scholarship awards.
Or: you don't need to know in advance which industry or which kind of role you want to work in. We will help you explore that and then to choose which major is best for you. For purposes of your application, you can just select whichever major seems like one you'd be interested in. You don't have to stick with that.
Gil: Your wife can work if she has work authorization in the US. Unfortunately, the US government doesn't allow students' spouses to work for pay unless they have US work authorization.

Is it possible to work during the full-time program?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 10:42PM
Lior: students sometimes work 10-12 hours/week (for instance, as a graduate assistant at the university). You will be very busy with your studies and with your job search, though, so it's not advisable to work more than that.

and 3. if I dont get a scholarship, can I postpone my studies by one year?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 10:50PM
Working in the 2nd year is quite unusual, mainly because it's hard to get the work authorization for that.
Yes, you can defer your admission for a year...but most Kelley students do get scholarships

Hi everyone. I didnt hear about Kelley till this session, but it seems super interesting and high up on the rankings too so a. you are doing a good job
b. do you think I could find a job in a top consulting firm (Mckinsey or BCG) post MBA. that is my career goal, but I cant find on Google your career report
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 10:58PM
Day, the campus is located in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. The student life is great! Because the city is pretty small and the students live near each other, the student body is close-knit. I love New York and lived there myself for 5 years, but from the standpoint of building relationships with a lot of classmates, you can't beat Bloomington!
Shalom Dvir, and todah rabbah for the compliment!
We do have numbers of students going into consulting. We are starting to see more students hired into McKinsey and Bain. We have more who go to Deloitte, EY, and a number of other firms. Here is a link to our 2021 employment report: https://kelley.iu.edu/recruiters-companies/graduate/employment-statistics/mba-full-time/index.html
I am happy to talk with any/all of you one-on-one about your goals and our program--you can be in touch with me at [email protected]. Happy to Zoom/WhatsApp any time!

How effective do you find the career counseling the school offers international students?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 11:06PM
Shalom Shachar! Our career services office is one of the best in the world--consistently ranked in the top handful. You will have your own coach who specializes in working with students with your particular type of career path (e.g., consulting, finance, etc.). We also have great faculty and alumni who will help you with your job search.

Hi Gale, any Israeli alumnus I can speak to ? Kelley seems an attractive option! but want to speak to some alumni ..
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 11:13PM
Shalom Bar--if you have received a GMAT or GRE waiver from us (see our website for info about that (https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/admissions/process-timeline.html), you can of course apply without the GMAT. But if you are going to apply with the GMAT and don't have a waiver, we can't fully consider your application until you submit your scores. Notice that you do have time--Round 1 deadline is in October and Round 2 in January.
Shalom, Lara: we have a great alum named Nir Paz whom I would refer you to.

A question about military experience effect while applying for an MBA degree. How is your university admission policy for veterans, having less experience in the labor market?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 11:21PM
Shalom Shachar--we *love* students with military experience at Kelley and find that they are quite successful on campus and in the job search! We always have students who are transitioning from full-time military careers and don't have any business experience per se. Employers value their leadership experience, ability to solve tough problems, teamwork skills, and much more...and so do we.

hi, If I get an F1 visa, can I work throughout the degree?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 11:22PM
Shalom Zohar. The program really is not set up for students to work much while they are studying. It's intended to be a full-time program, so you will have lots of classes and course work.
Some students do take a graduate assistantship and work 10-12 hours a week, but that's about it.

hi from Haifa. do all students do an internship? I come from a family business and would prefer to go back to Israel for the summer?
Gale Gold Nichols
6/09 11:24PM
Shalom Ron! All students are required to have some kind of work experience in the summer, but that could be working in your family business in Israel or doing something else there.
