User avatar Duke_Fuqua MBA2025 - Durham is a beautiful place to live and a great place to pursue your MBA. Most of our students attend our program because they don't want the rush of a big city. We have a phenomenal partners program that also helps to get families of our partners acclimated to Duke and Durham.
06-30-2024
08:10:52 pm
User avatar Spira Do you also accept EA score?
06-30-2024
08:10:24 pm
User avatar Atias How much weight does the GMAT score hold in comparison to GPA?
06-30-2024
08:09:42 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Amit - The strongest candidates are those who understand the value and importance of working in teams. They are willing to challenge themselves to grow by stepping outside of their comfort zone and pursue opportunities and experiences that are unknown. Yes, their application will show their academic and professional strengths. But it will also show their leadership potential, the impact they've made within their communities. They've also done a lot of self-reflection and can speak to the value add they'll bring to the community.

User avatar MBA2025 Here I come! Hi, I know Duke is in North Carolina, but don't know much about the area. is it a small university town? how far is it from a big city (I want to do this move with with my partner and 1-year old, so the location is critical)
06-30-2024
08:09:04 pm
User avatar Pranjalpathak07 @MBAFair Admin can you please highlight the key aspects you look for in a candidate's application?
06-30-2024
08:05:14 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Hi Kirti - we don't have a minimum requirement for work experience. Just make sure that your resume reflects all of your professional accomplishments thus far and the impact you've made in your roles.
06-30-2024
08:04:40 pm
User avatar Amit What type of candidates are you looking for? specific traits or characteristics?

User avatar Duke_Fuqua Amit - Outside of their summer internships, our students are encouraged not to work during their studies. There are certain student leadership positions that they can apply for, but the hours are minimal as not to interfere with with their studies and other commitments.
06-30-2024
07:58:44 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua We do require a test score, it can be a GMAT, GRE or EA score. And we also provide merit-based scholarships.
06-30-2024
07:57:55 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua The timing of the process depends on which round you choose to apply. All students arrive in Durham in July and Orientation normally starts on August 1st.

07:56:33 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Hi Eran, thanks for your questions....Our MBA program has a general management focus with 14 concentrations and 2 certificate programs. Students can choose to pursue 2 concentrations, 1 concentration/1 certificate or none. Marketing is one of your concentrations.
06-30-2024
07:54:47 pm
User avatar Amit Is it possible to work during the full-time program?
06-30-2024
07:52:58 pm
User avatar Eran Hi! first of all thank you for hosting us in this event. I would like to ask a few questions; 1. Do you have a specific MBA's programs in business administration (according to a certain specialization)? If so - does it exist in the field of hospitality and tourism/in the field of marketing/in other fields? 2. In addition, how long does the whole process take from the moment of selection to the moment of admission to the academic institution? 3. Is a GMAT test required to be admitted to your degree? 4. In addition, are there certain scholarships?
06-30-2024
07:52:19 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Hi Mor, we don't base admission on test scores or your GPA. The totality of your application will determine your admission.
06-30-2024
07:51:21 pm
User avatar Mor I have a 760 GMAT score and 5 years of experience in Investment Banking. What are my chances considering my high GMAT score.
06-30-2024
07:50:37 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Ealie - We actually don't require international applicants to submit a TOEFL score. It is not a required part of the application. Overall, I want you to apply when you're ready and feel the most confident about your application (and test score).
06-30-2024
07:49:03 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Ofek - A high GMAT score is helpful and can help address any potential academic concerns. Also keep in mind that all six components are weighed equally, one part is not more important than the other. If you have taken online courses or continuing education courses, you can submit those transcripts as well.
06-30-2024
07:46:43 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Dadon - there are many formal and informal ways that our students enhance their leadership potential. We have many leadership positions during their first and second year, in all of the student clubs. They can also pursue engagement with the Center of Leadership and Ethics as a COLE Fellow. That's a short answer but there are many ways for them to engage.
06-30-2024
07:45:11 pm
User avatar Ealie thanks @Duke_Fuqua for this! I am in the same situation. the GMAT is taking longer than anticipated. if I dont make it for round1, do you suggest applying in round 1 without a gmat, (and maybe a toefl) or is it better to apply when ready?
06-30-2024
07:44:03 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Danielle, you can submit your application for the Round 1 deadline but it won't be reviewed until we receive your test score.
06-30-2024
07:42:45 pm
User avatar Ofek My undergrad GPA is not that high, will a high GMAT overcome that for the MBA application?
06-30-2024
07:42:39 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Kirti - Not at all! The strength of your overall application will determine your competitiveness. Strong and well-rounded applicants will standout regardless of the round that you submit your application.
06-30-2024
07:42:22 pm
User avatar Dadon Natun Can you elaborate on your program's approach to leadership development?
06-30-2024
07:41:50 pm
User avatar Danielle Ben Baruch Just starting my GMAT- so I suppose round 2- unless u suggest applyinh in r1 somehow without a valid score?
06-30-2024

06-30-2024
07:39:39 pm
User avatar Duke_Fuqua Question for the chat: Are you planning to apply this year? If so, what round are you considering?
